Ida Mae died on December 30, 1979 in Dallas, Texas. They are both buried in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Ida Mae was a prolific poet beginning her wordsmithing at a young age. She typed up her poems and writings. Then she pasted them on top of catalog and machining manuals most likely given to her by her parents as a way for her to save her creations. Over 100 years later, they are still intact.
